Poinsettias, Christmas trees, mistletoe and gifts made Valerie and Matthew’s wedding on Dec. 27, 2012, a truly Christmas-themed celebration at Saint Anne Roman Catholic Church in Fair Lawn and at The Excelsior in Saddle Brook. The intimate affair was shared with only 19 of the couple’s closest family and friends. In lieu of dancing, guests participated in a fun game of trivia where everyone went home with prizes — including me!
Each guest received a prize that in one way or another, spoke to their interests, which says a lot about the generosity and thoughtfulness of their hosts who took the time and effort to pick out meaningful, albeit simple, gifts for others on their own wedding day when they should be the recipient of presents. Making the day not just about themselves, but about their loved ones are what makes this couple memorable for me.
Val’s hair and makeup were done by the artists at the Bangz Salon & Wellness Spa in Montclair, the whimsical cake was made by Kathy at Cake Creations, and the poinsettias, Christmas trees and bouquets/boutonnieres were provided by Metropolitan Plant and Flower Exchange.

Reena was an absolute delight to work with! The most important thing to my wife and I was a non-evasive photographer. We didn’t want someone stopping us every few moments asking us to pose for the perfect picture. Not only did Reena not do that, but she also managed to snap the perfect shot even without us having to pose for it. Her smile and personailty are infectious and she truly made the day fun for us. If possible, we would like to pack Reena away in our luggage on all our future vacations so she can take all of our photos for us. I highly recommend her for your wedding!
