It’s already almost halfway through 2014, so forgive me if I’m only finally getting around to updating my blog with some of my favorite news images from last year taken around Hudson County, N.J. for The Jersey Journal (including one image I took just for my own). One set of images, taken in November when a guilty verdict was handed down on a man who was blinded after being shot by a police officer, won a second place photography award in the New Jersey Press Association’s 2013 Better Newspaper Contest for News Picture Story (Daily). First responders from Hudson County municipalities held a full scale emergency preparedness drill at the United States Postal Service Processing & Distribution Center.
